About Isabel
Isabel is our mixed terrier dog we adopted from a shelter in England. She is considered a rescued dog because she was brought into the shelter and went unclaimed by her owners. Had she not been adopted by us (or some other family), she would have been put down. Isabel was meant for us. She has been one of the best things to ever happen to us. Short of Rich and I finding one another or having our own children, Isabel has made our family. Neither of us could imagine life without her. She has been with our family since October 5, 2002. When we decided to move to the US, there was never any question that she would accompany us. The only questions we had were what we would need to do for her to be admitted. So, she received several vaccinations she otherwise would not have had to have and she was booked into the flight. She had to travel in the cargo part of the plane which truly broke my heart, but it got her here safe and sound and she’s once again a happy dog!
Isabel loves to play, eat and sleep! She really enjoys chew toys although she generally destroys them. If they are stuffed, she rips them open and tears the stuffing out, but she then carries the cloth carcass around for years afterward. If the toy is soft vinyl, she chews it up into bits. However, these activities make her happy, so, as long as she is in no danger from choking, we let her go at it and clean up when she is done.
Isabel loves to go for walks. She adores the outdoors and would stay outside as long as we would let her, assuming we are with her. She is not as accepting of other animals who are smaller than her and has to be kept separate from them. This has been a concern to us with regards to any children we may have, however, should the need ever arise we have a contingency plan in place for this situation.
What more can I say? Who could resist that doggy grin?!
